My little review of yesterday's gig in Lille :

So in the morning I was wondering if it was very reasonable to see them twice in a row. But after all it's my FUCKING FAVOURITE band so I went. And I wasn't disappointed. It was really mental. Even better than the Brussels one. And I was wearing my Drew tee of course.

Pre-gig: My best friend and I arrived at 4 pm at the venue, and there were only a few people (like usually  ). It was raining and really cold, but we drank some wine so it was easier to wait haha. Moreover this Aéronef venue (I have been there twice before) is always full of draughts :smt104 Not the best venue to meet artists too, because it's located on top of a mall, and the tour bus was on the street sooo... No Drew encounter this time.

Gig: I don't remember the name of the opening act, it wasn't too bad but not mindblowing either. The band was 30 minutes late. Peter looked great, and so does the rest of the band (especially my dear Drew :smt049 ). This time I was front row, but in front of Peter. He acted very professionnal (at least he wasn't as drunk as in Brussels) didn't stagedive, only threw his mic several times in the crowd and his guitar to that poor roadie  . The band members really seemed to enjoy playing together, Peter joked with the crowd, with his band members, he communicated a lot with the public. The biggest difference with the Brussels gig was obviously the crowd. The fans were really crazy, I was front-row so everyone was pushing and dancing together, it was awesome, very much energy! :smt030 I've got lots of bruises today but I don't care haha it was way to fun, even though my best friend didn't expect such a wild gig. But we succeeded in staying in front of Peter. The sound was nice, Peter sounded amazing and the band did an awesome job. I managed to get a setlist (http://endlessspringinalbion.tumblr.com ... 2-14#notes). Thanks to that nice roadie who gave it to me because the girls next to me were acting pretty violent to get MY setlist haha Like usually they didn't respect it, they played these songs:
-Delivery
-Nothing Comes To Nothing
-I Wish
-Fall From Grace
-I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles (very fun)
-Farmer's Daughter (always make me shivering)
-Stranger in My Own Skin (very nice surprise, unexpected, really happy for having gotten the chance to hear that)
-Hooligans on E (I almost cried when he began to sing this. My friend wanted to hear a Libs song, and I can't believe we got that one. Magical moment, my favourite of the evening)
-Killamangiro
-Penguins (was pretty disappointed it wasn't in the setlist last time, so I went crazy for that one :D it's already an awesome tune on the record, but live, it's really powerful. Ant to hear all the fans screaming "AH PENGUINS ARE GREAT" was... great. :smt049
-Fireman
-Dr. No
-Maybelline (forever my fav Shambles song with "Sticks And Stones" amazing live)
-A'rebours (very nice surprise too)
-The Man Who Came to Stay
-Pipedown

After 10 minutes, we got an encore:
-Fuck Forever
-Albion (very nice way to end that wonderful moment)

Peter played piano and made us have a good laugh between the 2 songs of the encore. He then said "Merci Lille, vous êtes très gentils!" Perfect Tuesday evening. Now I really understand why they are my favourite band. Can't wait to see them again in Werchter, and (hopefully) maybe in London too. Now post-gig depression, here I come ! :D
